Further to the social media release yesterday and in an attempt to provide further clarity, the Combined Counties League has released the following statement:

The club previously known as Sporting London Benfica retains its position in Division One of The Combined Counties League. 

It has been renamed as Eagles Land Benfica with this name sanctioned by Middlesex County FA.

The whole process has taken place within FA Rules, with guidance from that organisation.

For season 2026 to 27 the club has a ground-share agreement (GSA) to play at Harefield United.
